🏁Competition
Community Well
The community pool is the source of rewards for players, funded through commissions generated by the trading of goods (NFTs) or presales. This structure ensures a sustainable distribution proportional to the activity and commitment of the player community.
The fund is filled with a percentage of contributions, reflecting the community’s support and participation. By distributing this fund among competitors at the start of each season, it guarantees that rewards are fair and based on individual performance during the competition, promoting an equitable and transparent gaming environment.
Seasons
The competition is organised in 35-day seasons, followed by a 15-day break to allow players to recover, plan strategies, and prepare for the next season.
During the seasons, the community pool is gradually filled with contributions from the community. The funds raised in one season are allocated as rewards for the following season.
Season 0: The funds raised will be used for rewards in Season 1.
Season 1: Rewards are based on funds raised during Season 0.
Season 2: Rewards are based on funds raised during Season 1.
Season 3: Rewards are based on funds raised during Season 2.
Funds collected during the preseason periods (15 days) will be managed by the Conclave, which will decide whether to allocate them to events, additional rewards, or other uses.
Mutations
Enemies can receive mutations that alter their behaviour, changing their movements or attacks. Each mutation has a low chance of appearing to maintain freshness and challenge.
There are 48 mutations designed, and each season 12 will be randomly selected so that players can adapt to these variations.
Courses
Through the Conclave, players will be able to choose 3 curses that disable abilities, making each season offer a different and balanced challenge.
Equitable distribution
To prevent some seasons from having excessively low or no rewards, the following rules apply:
If at any point the accumulated reward exceeds a set limit, the surplus will be carried over to the next season to maintain balance.
If the accumulated reward does not reach the minimum required for a meaningful distribution, no rewards will be given out that season. However, the community, through the Conclave, can decide to contribute additional resources to ensure continuity and sustain competitive interest.
Abysmal Descent
The Abyssal Descent is Catalepsy’s main competitive mode. In it, players descend through the Infernal Abyss while being evaluated based on their performance: speed, efficiency in defeating enemies, and use of items are key factors for their score.
Based on their score, players are placed in a leaderboard divided into five tiers, each offering rewards proportional to the resources accumulated in the community pool.
How to compete?
To compete, players activate competition mode before entering the Infernal Abyss. During the descent, the game records details such as defeated enemies, speed, and item usage to evaluate performance.
Divisions
The Infernal Abyss consists of the following divisions:
Shady Den: Levels 1 - 5
Shadow Trench: Levels 6 - 10
Deep Grotto: Levels 11 - 15
Maw of Darkness: Levels 16 - 20
Rewards
Each division receives a proportional share of the community pool, which is distributed among the top 100 players in each section:
Shady Den: 10%
Shadow Trench: 25%
Deep Grotto: 30%
Maw of Darkness: 35%
